Our customer is a global satellite internet provider, serving millions of customers across more than 100 countries and connecting homes, businesses, and vehicles that traditional infrastructure cannot reach. That scale, and the pace at which the business kept growing, eventually outpaced its legacy compliance screening setup.
The challenge
The company ran customer, vendor, and visitor screening through separate tools, each with its own logic, high false positive rates, and no way to filter, score, or batch-assign cases. As its customer base grew quickly, that fragmentation stopped being an operational headache and became a risk to commercial growth. Onboarding could not keep pace with demand.
The setup also offered limited flexibility across risk types and jurisdictions. This became increasingly important as the company expanded into new markets and needed screening infrastructure capable of supporting different regulatory requirements.
That legacy system revealed one of its biggest limitations: it emailed an alert every time a case was raised, and once alerts reached analysts, workflow visibility was limited.
Why they chose ComplyAdvantage
The company evaluated ComplyAdvantage against competing providers on more than price or individual features. What convinced them was the application programming interface (API) and how quickly its engineering team could build against it.
Instead of relying on a conventional product demonstration, they put ComplyAdvantage’s public documentation directly in the hands of a full-stack engineer. Given a nine-day evaluation window, the engineer built a parallel, end-to-end onboarding integration in just a couple of days, without requiring additional support from a solutions architect or professional services team.
The exercise provided them with direct evidence that the platform could accommodate its engineering model and support its growth pace.
A seamless, high-volume migration
The company migrated 8.6 million customer records from its legacy provider to the ComplyAdvantage platform. At peak, the ComplyAdvantage implementation team transferred roughly 1.5 million records in a single night.
The full process – from kickoff to live – was completed in just two weeks.
Expanding into agentic automation
Following the migration, the company expanded its partnership with ComplyAdvantage to bring agentic AI into onboarding and case remediation.
When a screening match is flagged, the agent gathers supporting context for that match, assesses it against their predefined rules and thresholds, and automatically closes it if it qualifies as a false positive. Cases that fall outside those rules are routed to an analyst.
Clearing the path for growth
Results from the company’s own production data show:
- 87% reduction in manual false positive remediation.
- 94% of all cases handled by the agent were auto-remediated as false positives within five minutes.
- In the first month alone, the agent handled 4,377 onboarding cases.
Growth had exposed the limits of a fragmented screening setup. The company replaced it with an approach built to operate at a very different scale: 8.6 million customer records were migrated in two weeks, followed by automation that reduced manual remediation of false positives by 87%.
What began as a high-volume migration has expanded into a broader effort to automate repetitive compliance work while keeping analysts focused on genuine, high-risk cases that require human judgment.
